Student Organizations

The department supports three student organizations that promote psychological scholarship and social interaction among the faculty and students. The department provides an academic advisor for each of the three student organizations.

Psychology Club

The Psychology Club is the oldest student psychology organization on campus. Membership is open to any student with an interest in psychology. The club offers a variety of social and psychology-related activities throughout the academic year. There are no membership requirements or dues.

APS Student Caucus

Students who join the American Psychological Society as "Student Affiliates" automatically gain membership in the local APS Student Caucus (APSSC). The Student Caucus serves as a local forum for all student APS members. The chapter holds regular meetings and sponsors a program that promotes the science of psychology. The Luther College chapter of the APSSC is the sixth oldest in the nation.

National Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi)

The National Honor Society in Psychology was founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. The Luther College chapter received its charter in 1990 and annually inducts students with distinguished academic records.
